Description: The Pearl Street Transportation Study was a synthesis of numerous previous studies for the Pearl Street portion of Vermont Route 15 in Essex Junction. Several of the previous studies focused on specific transportation needs and often had conflicting or non prioritized recommendations. Broadreach Planning & Design (BRPD), working with Stantec as a subconsultant, complied and reviewed the multitude of previous studies and presented as clear, concise, unified set of recommendations for the Village. BRPD pulled the recommendations for a multi modal corridor from the previous studies or developed them as part of this study to address issues or concerns not adequately covered in the previous work. BRPD also provided a phasing and implementation plan and to help the Village prioritize the recommendations and find appropriate funding sources. Among the recommendations included in the final report are

 The instigation of a trial rapid bus transit service to downtown Burlington;

 The addition of a roundabout at the entrance to the Post Office Square;

 The initiation of a commuter trail during peak Champlain Fair activities, and

 The development of a shared use path along the northern edge of the railroad (the railroad is ready to work with the Village to implement this recommendation).
